Historically Accurate Bathrooms Plus Edgy Collaborations: Interview with Warren Pearl of Lefroy Brooks
By Diana Mosher
Lefroy Brooks is sometimes typecast as traditional, but the manufacturer actually has a range of styles including collections designed for its Cooper & Graham brand by Yabu Pushelberg—like the Emilie Collection which draws inspiration from the gracefulness of flight. A gentle curve upward to the handles of the Emilie bath fixtures emulates the wing tips of a soaring airplane. Emilie was the choice for the elegant Fairmont Century Plaza guest rooms in Los Angeles. “We don’t have a lower end product [for multifamily and hotel developers],” says Warren Pearl, President, Lefroy Brooks. “What we can do is lower our price on certain collections substantially to meet their budgets.” Lefroy Brooks did a large condominium project for Toll Brothers on Kent Street in Brooklyn. “We were able to match Kohler’s price and do the whole building. It was approximately 600 bathrooms. By lowering our profit margin and getting volume, for certain of our collections we’re able to meet the developer’s budget.”
