When we met Slarskey LLC, a law firm in New York City, they were operating from an office in the venerable Greybar Building adjoining Grand Central Station where they had taken space during Covid. The firm’s founding partner David Slarskey had just signed a lease for a full-floor office on the 14th floor at 767 Third Avenue, a 40-story Class A property between East 47th and 48th Streets owned and managed by Sage.
David Slarskey admired the ribbon windows and curved, red brick architecture of the late 1970s office tower. Another tenant perk is the newly added Oasis amenity program on the 7th floor which includes a terrace garden, film screening area, cafe, tenants’ lounge, library, meeting rooms and a catering kitchen.
Slarskey LLC is expanding rapidly with 10 employees and more to be hired in the next months. David Slarskey tasked Diana Mosher Associates with expressing his vision of a “clubhouse” where partners, associates and paralegals could gather to bounce ideas and grab a coffee in between client meetings and court dates. The new office needed to feel welcoming to visitors while reflecting the laid-back but hard-working and client-centric personality of the Slarskey LLC brand.
We also represented Slarskey LLC during all phases of the demo and build-out of the 14th floor at all site meetings with the general contractor, Sage’s in-house architect and sub-contractors. The existing space was dark and cramped with many walls and a maze of permanent/drywall cubicles. Our collective vision for the new space was to open up circulation and ensure access to the expansive windows, daylight and Manhattan views by installing private offices and conference rooms around the perimeter with floor-to-ceiling glass fronts with matte black hardware.
Now the iconic cityscape can be enjoyed from everywhere in the office. The multi-functional “triangle” room—named for its three-sided configuration and used for hoteling employees or small meetings—boasts the best unobstructed East River views.
A combination of polished concrete floors and sophisticated black carpet set the tone for modern, streamlined interiors expressed through a palette of pale woods and clean white laminates. Occasional pops of color, inspired by Slarskey LLC’s rebrand, and the high-impact logo wall greet visitors and visually convey the team’s energy, enthusiasm and expertise.
The interior design of Slarskey LLC’s new full-floor office space has already proven helpful for hiring top talent. And it also complements Sage’s recent $53-million lobby and common area redesign. The building’s original architect FXCollaborative, together with Fogarty Finger, have replaced exterior walls with floor-to-ceiling glass panels; added a round, concrete reception desk; gray terrazzo floors; new lighting; updated elevator cabs and new quartzite flooring in the elevator bank providing a compelling reason to come back to the office.
